Bicton College

picture of bicton college

Formed in 1947 to help ensure Britain never again went hungry; Bicton has played a major part in developing the region’s farmers. But as farming businesses have diversified, so has Bicton. Whilst Agriculture remains at our heart our remit has grown to include all areas related to the land and environment.

The challenge sixty years ago was about food production, but the challenge we all face today is that of global warming and sustainability. Bicton is still leading the way to ensure that the people of Devon are equipped with the skills they need for success.

Bicton College combines an outdoor classroom of 500 acres with modern teaching resources and offers further and higher education training courses in Countryside Management, Arboriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Education, Environmental Arts & Crafts, Agriculture, Engineering, Animal Care, Horse Studies, Floristry, Outdoor Leisure, Working with Children, Veterinary Nursing, Public Services and Travel & Tourism.

Bicton College offers more than just an ordinary college environment, with a refreshingly fun approach to the whole learning experience, within 200 hectares of glorious Devon countryside.

We pride ourselves in our students' success rates and the numbers that progress to higher education.

Bicton is not just about study... but also enjoying yourself. There are clubs, sporting events, cultural activities and an active social calendar to ensure you enjoy your leisure time. You'll make great friends and be part of a widening social scene.

We are committed to ensure your time with us is both educational and enjoyable, so do take time to explore the wide range of possibilities. We look forward to welcoming you to Bicton.
