North Devon College is a Tertiary College situated in Barnstaple, North Devon. It sits on top of a hill overlooking the town with panoramic views across the river Taw estuary. It received approval as a Tertiary Centre in 1969.

The Art and Design section has a reputation for producing high quality work at all levels whilst supporting the individual needs and interests of students. It is now possible to do full and part time courses that take you from just having an interest in Art and Design to studying at degree level. Many courses are suitable for mature students as well as students progressing from school to college and they range from evening classes to one day per week to full time so you should be able to find something which is right for you.

 

The organisational scheme in North Devon consists of mainly 11 - 16 (age) comprehensive schools although there are two 11 - 18 schools, one at Bideford and one at Ilfracombe. At the age of 16, therefore, most students wishing to remain in full or part-time education attend the College. In addition the College continues to serve the further education needs of a wider area. Very strong links are maintained with all schools and community colleges as well as other institutions, so as to ensure comprehensive provision for both young people and adults in the area. The College welcomes applications from mature and international students.
