Activity 114:  Embroidery Techniques

During last week’s class we looked at how to start a few embroidery techniques. I used the wrong fabric (I am also new at embroidery and cross stitch) and would like to show you how to do it differently.

You Will Need:

  • Embroidery Thread

  • Embroidery Fabric

  • Hoop

  • Template (on the fabric or idea on paper)

  • Needle

  • Scissors

Step by step guide:

1. Make a little knot at the end of your first embroidery thread and start at the back of your pattern.

2. Choose your stitch technique for that block or letter. Stick to the same technique.

3. To have two parts of embroidery next to each other, make sure you use different colours or at least a different direction when using the same stitch technique

4. I have used different stitches, within this one embroidery hoop. Feel free to choose whatever technique you fancy.

If you are making your own template it could look as stunning as these.
