Activity 26: Decorative Flower Candle
We have decorated candles by melting wax paper onto the candle with a hairdryer. The flowers can be melted onto the candle in this way, or by the following.
I would use the candle for decorative purposes only as we have used glue, please be aware of this! Be careful.
YOU WILL NEED:
A Glass Jar
A Bain Marie Style Bowl
WHAT TO DO:
Gather all your materials: a glass jar, a wick, old candles, dried flowers, a grater and a bain-marie style bowl.
Grate your old candles into the bowl.
Glue your dried flowers onto the glass. Only a little bit of glue is needed.
Glue the metal part of your wick onto the bottom of the glass.
Melt the wax in a baine marie style, then transfer the melted wax into the glass jar. If you want to use 2 colours of wax, wait till the first colour is fully dried.
If you make one of these, please send us a photo - we would love to see!
