A Wee Christmas Message from Moya
A Christmas Message from Plantation Productions
We can all agree 2020 was a year like no other, no one escaped the pandemic scot-free, it’s been a tough year for everyone. Going into lockdown was a shock to all of us but the team worked hard to adapt Creative Steps to make sure we could stay connected to all our participants.
Over the last 9 months we’ve sent out hundreds of weekly creative care packs, set up an extensive programme of online classes, got the Govan Allsorts Community Choir meeting online, opened twice a week for crafts collections and introduced some exciting new services.
We had to keep a close eye on the government guidance and, over the last 6 months, attempted to reopen in person services several times. As we have to comply with the rules we were limited to only being able to have 4 participants in the space, which left us in a difficult position. But with the constant changes in guidance our board made the decision that it was safer to keep the building shut and continue with the collection, post packs and online service. This was a very difficult decision as we are all desperate to get back to some kind of normality again.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say how incredible the workers have been throughout this time, with so much uncertainty they didn’t let it phase them, continuing to do a fantastic job. We hope you have all enjoyed the activity and maybe learnt some new skills. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and there will be better days ahead. We’ll continue to keep in touch with you all and are looking forward to seeing you again next year.
Wishing you a safe and relaxing festive season and all the very best for the New Year.
Take good care,
