Candles and Chocolate Oranges - New Creative Activities

To link with our theme of Summer Solstice - which you will see throughout your post packs this week - Vanessa has gone for two nature themed blog tutorials this week.

Our first tutorial teaches you how to bake - using an orange as your 'cake tin'. This is a new approach to cooking which is low mess and will taste incredible once ready. You can cook your orange on a barbecue or pop it in the oven instead.

These could be made in advance and cooked when needed - a wee treat for the weekend perhaps.

As someone who loves chocolate oranges and cake in general, i'll definitely be giving this one a try.

In our second tutorial, Vanessa will show you how to create a decorative candle using gratings from older candles and dried flowers. These look wonderful and can brighten up a table or shelf - though should be left for decoration purposes to avoid burning the flowers or glue.

This is a great way to use up the leftover bits from other candles.

We would love to see what you create, so if you make any of the crafts in the tutorials please send us a photo!
