Create at Home for Your Home! A Photo Tutorial by Linda

As we are all spending more time at home, we now have the opportunity to get stuck into projects that may have been sat on our to-do list. Whether it is putting up shelves, redecorating or having a full clear out, even little changes can make a difference.

Our physical space around us can have a significant impact on our wellbeing and sense of calm.

To get you inspired, we wanted to show you a home DIY project to decorate a wall and upcycle furniture, created by our talented participant and volunteer Linda.

1. Linda has used decorating tape to section off areas of a wall in a triangular pattern. The triangles are all different sizes which adds to the look.

2. Each triangle has been individually coloured so that there aren’t two colours together. We really like the choice of colour scheme here as they all work very well together.

3. Once the tape is removed, a clear white line remains between each section. As you will see from the photo, the final look is incredible and looks very professional.

This isn’t just limited to wall decoration – as you will see from the photos below, this technique can also be applied to furniture to give an old piece a completely new look.

There are so many benefits to a project like this – not only are you making your home a nicer place to be, but you are getting a lot of exercise! As you will have heard from us plenty of times, doing something creative like this is a great way to give yourself a boost and keep your mind busy.

Thank you so much to Linda for cheering us up with this wonderful idea and for letting us share her project and photos with you all. We hope that this inspires some of you to give this a try.

If you do – please send us a photo!
