Get Involved in the Elder Park Craft Attack: A Community Craft Project!
What is Happening?
Community project Mrs Elder’s Glorious Gift are encouraging local people to get involved in a community Craft Attack event, taking place on the 26th and 27th June.
Here is more information from their website:
“To celebrate 136 years of Elder Park, and the completion of the Govan Road entranceway improvement works, Mrs Elder’s Glorious Gift is organising a Community Craft Attack in Elder Park for the weekend of the 26th/27th of June. Members of the Impact Arts Craft Cafe , Gilded Lily, and Plantation Production’s Creative Steps Programme communities are all taking part.”
What are we doing?
Our contribution to the Craft Attack event will be a joint creative project made up of wooden decorations. We have a mix of different shapes, all based on themes that relate to the history and heritage of Elder Park.
Everyone taking part will decorate their own charm over the next few weeks. We will hang these all up together to create one joint craft piece which will be displayed during the event days.
We encourage those taking part to write a positive message on to their decoration. This could be a hope for the future, a wish for your community or something positive relating to nature and the park.
Packs have been made up containing everything you will need to get started – including pens, gem embellishments and a decoupage kit.
This is a great way to be creative, connect with others and take part in a community project.
