Get Sew Crafty

Our blog tutorials for this week are crafts involving both fabrics and sewing. Whether you hand sew, or have a sewing machine ready to go, give these a try for something a bit different.

Our first tutorial is for a triangle bag. This will keep you busy for a while - particularly if you are hand sewing - and leaves you with something that both looks good and is practical.

You will certainly not see many other people with one of these!

Vanessa's tutorial involves a few video clips from one of her friends to explain certain aspects - definitely worth a watch to see more of the behind the scenes process.

You could make one of these for your visit to the shops, or to make a unique gift for someone.

Our second tutorial continues our upcycling theme. If you have had a clear out over the past few weeks, why not try turning an older item of clothing into something new? This not only gives you a unique item in your own style, but helps the environment.

Vanessa has created a fun tutorial which shows you how to turn a jumper into a cardigan as an example.

You could take this further - why not turn a maxi skirt into a mini skirt, or add new buttons to brighten up a jacket?

Let your imagination run and see what you can come up with.

If you make any of these crafts, please send us a photo - we would love to see what you come up with.
