Mental Health Awareness Week: Collective Craft Celebration

Updated: May 19

This week, we are celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week by combining wellbeing and creativity.

Those of you who were attending our groups this time last year may remember our last creative collaboration to celebrate the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF). Together with Vanessa, you crafted an amazing giant flower and we held an exhibition to display what you had created.

This year, the festival runs at the same time as Mental Health Awareness Week: the 18th – 24th May. We thought it would be a good idea to celebrate both through a distance art project that everyone has the option to take part in.

The theme for this year is kindness.

In your post packs this week, you will have received the materials and tutorials for 2 paper tile projects - one a mutlicoloured rainbow theme and the other a paper mosaic.

If you want to take part:

1. Try the activities. You could do one, or both - just take your time and have fun.

2. Take a photo of your tile and send this to us before the 26th May.

3. We will put everyone’s photo together to create one big picture – making it one collective craft piece.

The more people that take part, the better the final piece will be!

Stay safe, well and creative!
