Programme Updates: What Are We Doing?

You can visit our Current Programme section for an up to date overview of what we are currently doing.

Here is a little update about our current activities:

New Groups at Gallery 966

This week we are adding two new in person groups to our weekly schedule, taking our total up to 6.

Our mini groups are made up of 4 people and last for 1 hour. We have safety measures in place, including a one way system, physically distanced sitting areas and a face mask procedure.

We will continue to add more groups over the next few months, as well as adding more places to currently running groups once we are allowed to do so. We have a waiting list for spaces.

If you are interested in joining one of our groups, please get in touch for a chat.

Online Crafting Groups

Our online mixed crafting groups take place on a Monday and Thursday, from 11:00 – 12:00.

You can sign up to one or both of the classes.

This is an open, relaxed group so there is no expectation that you will attend every week – if you are busy or do not feel like attending, simply skip a week.

We will work on a different crafting project in each group. All materials can be collected from our Wednesday drop in.

In the last week, we have made a jewellery box, watercolour planets and pretty card bunting.

Join us for a bit of crafting and connection with others.

Online Sewing Groups

We are currently running a block of online sewing classes with our tutor Morag. We have two different hand sewing projects to choose from every Friday - take a look at our schedule page for more information.

Drop In

Our drop in is still running at Gallery 966 every Wednesday morning from 10:00 – 12:00.

Visit us to collect mixed crafting packs, material packs for our online classes or just to say hello!

You can also drop off any craft projects that you want to donate to our window display.

Group Projects

Participants attending our drop in have been busy making pom poms to add to a joint wool canvas project. You can try this yourself by following our tutorial.

To the side you will see the current progress of the project.

If you want to contribute to this project, stop by our drop in for more information and to collect wool.

Distance Services

After 15 months - and 63 mini post magazines! - we have ended our post pack service so that we can concentrate on restarting our in-person groups.

If you continued to sign up to this service over the duration of the year, we hope that you have enjoyed receiving these through the post. In total, we sent 2454 paper packs - that is a lot of stamps!

Our crafting bags, containing materials for creative activities, are still being made and can be collected from our Wednesday drop in.

Online Tutorials

New tutorials will be posted on this blog every Friday, so keep checking back to get inspiration and ideas for creative projects to do at home. You can see all tutorials from past weeks on our Creative Activities page.
